‘Nothing
compares to the simple pleasure of riding a bicycle’ Exploring a country on a bicycle is the ultimate travel experience
- Wales lends itself perfectly to bicycle touring, in its size, varied
landscape and well maintained road network. Wales is a small country
with lots of character and variety. The welsh word for Wales - Cymru,
means ‘friends or companions’, which is quickly realised when meeting
the locals.
It has three national parks – The Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and the
Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park. Wales has 807 miles of coastline!
A mountain range hosting the highest peak in Wales! - The second highest
peak in the UK. A quarter of the country’s landmass is classed as an
area of outstanding natural beauty!
Routes are abundant - you can ride along the River Wye from the source, through the Brecon Beacons National Park to its mouth or cycle from Anglesey in the very north, through Snowdonia to the Pembrokeshire coast in the south, there are many more possibilities.
